Music Service
Gloucestershire Libraries has a Music and Performing Arts service, based at Gloucester Library.
This chargeable service loans sets of music scores (for up to six months) to groups or individuals who sign up for a ‘music group’ membership. This service is open to groups and individuals based both in Gloucestershire and elsewhere.
The collection ranges from orchestral, chamber and choral works to popular songs and operas. We have works by many composers, including those with a Gloucestershire connection, such as Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Hubert Parry, Ivor Gurney and Herbert Howells. Sets can be collected from Gloucester Library or from another Gloucestershire library for an additional fee.
If you are planning a musical performance for a wedding, then take a look a look at the Music and Performing Arts web pages to browse our collection or contact our Customer Advisor for music for advice.
During a ceremony, please note that any music must by law be non-religious and seemly and dignified to reflect the solemnity of the occasion.
