Steeped in history, the Royal Agricultural University provides a spectacular setting for your wedding. It’s easy to imagine your perfect day at our picturesque venue. Awaiting you at the end of an impressive tree-lined approach is a delightful Victorian Chapel, extensive grounds and a choice of splendid rooms for civil ceremonies and receptions, some dating to the 17th Century.
Whether your ideal wedding is small and intimate or a large extravaganza, we have a selection of reception and dining rooms; there really is something for everyone.
The picturesque Victorian Chapel, complete with a stunning stained glass window, is located within the grounds, close to the reception rooms. It is fully licensed and available for hire should you wish to hold a private multi-denominational religious ceremony. This can be arranged with the agreement of our resident Chaplains, who are always pleased to meet and discuss formalities with prospective bride and grooms. Civil marriage, partnerships and commitment ceremonies as well as renewal of vows, can be held at the RAU in the Bathurst Suite, Kenneth Russell Room or the 16th Century Tithe Barn. Should your guests require overnight accommodation, we are pleased to offer Bed and Breakfast.
Included in your package is the use of grounds for photographs, a dressing room for the bridal party, wedding cake table, cake stand and knife.
Our chefs create exciting menus using responsibly sourced ingredients with provenance at the heart of what we do. We have several wedding menus to suit all different tastes, however if you have something else in mind then we would be delighted to discuss further options and design a bespoke menu. We can also offer delicious alternatives for anyone who has any dietary/special requirements.

- The Bathurst Dining Room (50 theatre style)
- The Bathurst Lounge (40 theatre style)
